Each of the contestants wowed the audience with these spectacular costumes inspired by the beauty, history, and heritage of The Bahamas. Three costumes stood out to the judges:
- Lucayan Warrior, worn by Lydia Cooper, Miss University of The Bahamas
- Grammy’s Kitchen, worn by Rotalya Williams, Miss Ocean Cay
- Goddess of the Crystal Seas, worn by La’Tiqua Smith, Miss Crystal Cay
As you can see, the costumes were indeed spectacular and indicative of the lifestyle and culture of The Bahamas.
Representing The Bahamas to the World
Miss World Bahamas is a major event, and the winner is selected from a wide variety of talented women from across The Bahamas. The different regions of The Bahamas were represented by the following women:

- Miss Balmoral Island
- Miss Cat Island
- Miss Crystal Cay
- Miss Eleuthera
- Miss New Providence

- Miss University of the Bahamas
From this impressive group, just one woman was selected to represent The Bahamas in the upcoming Miss World Pageant, which will be held later this year in Thailand.

For the third consecutive year, The Miss World Bahamas costume competition was held at the Rooftop of The Pointe Financial Tower located in the heart of downtown Nassau. The Pointe is a top Tier 1 sponsor of the competition, and it is appropriate that the pageant kicks off here with the costume competition.

And the Winner is………
The culmination of several weeks of exciting competition came to a close with the crowning of Miss World Bahamas on May 26 before a capacity crowd. Nyah Bandelier was crowned this year’s winner. She will move on to represent The Bahamas in the Miss World competition.
However, the winner of the costume competition was named during the final ceremony as well and received an equal amount of applause and adulation as the overall winner. Rotalya Williams, Miss Ocean Cay who wore the Grammy’s Kitchen design was the 2019 costume competition winner.
